Attendance and Punctuality
96% is the expected attendance for a primary aged child at Endeavour Academy.
We want the very best for your child, children who have poor attendance records miss vital aspects of their education and often find it difficult to catch up missed work. They may also have difficulty in making friends and maintaining relationships with their peers.
Help your child to be on time for school.
Please ensure your child is on the playground for 8:50am so that they can enter school with their class. We understand that it is sometimes difficult when relying on public transport to time your journey right, so why not get an earlier bus and bring your child to our Breakfast Club?
It is at the headteacher's discretion as to whether an absence is authorised or not.
Authorised absences may include:
- Genuine illness
- Medical appointments * (See Below)
- Funeral/death of immediate family member
Unauthorised absences may include:
- Birthdays
- Parent's illness/medical appointments
- Holidays
- Late after 9:30
- Tiredness
Medical Appointments
Medical appointments should be made out of school hours if possible. If this is not possible, children brought to school before and after their appointments.
Please note, if we have written to you to tell you your child's attendance is below 90% you will be asked to provide medical evidence if your child is off school due to illness. This must be a note from the Doctor stating why your child is unfit for school, not just a medical card which only proves they have visitied a Doctor.
